KYLE, Texas — With the ongoing drought, the City of Kyle is turning to its neighbors further south for water. The dry conditions have affected Kyle homeowners like Brad Rademachir who has been watering his lawn just one day every other week since the city is under water restrictions.

LCRA announces efforts to develop new water supplies to keep up with future growth

AUSTIN, Texas — The KVUE Defenders have been tracking water issues in Central Texas, including how population growth, climate change and other factors drain our water supplies. To make sure we don’t run out of drinking water, the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) announced on Wednesday it’s working to develop new water supplies.

All-time lows for Burnet County groundwater

Aquifers in Burnet County don’t just need “some” rain to refill, they need “significantly
above-average” precipitation to adequately recharge, according to the Central Texas
Groundwater Conservation District (https://www.centraltexasgcd.org/). The county
remains in an extreme drought, and some wells are approaching or have surpassed
their lowest levels on record.

State water agency sees drought relief in forecast | Olney Enterprise

State water officials were optimistic that drought relief was on the way even as more of Texas slipped into drought conditions last week. The Water Weekly report by the Texas Water Development Board showed that 86 percent of the state was affected by drought conditions the week of Sept. 11, compared with 76 percent a week earlier and 62 percent a year ago.
