Texas Water Code Chapter 36
Chapter 36 of the Texas Water Code allows for the creation of Groundwater Conservation Districts.
Enabling Legislation
The Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District was created by the 77th legislature through House Bill 1784. The bill was passed on June 16, 2001 and took effect on September 1, 2001. The act was codified April 1, 2013 into Special District Local Law Code Chapter 8835 Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District.
