Seismicity, uncontrolled wells add to challenges of reusing produced water

Forecasts have Texas facing a severe water shortage as the state’s water supply could fall 18% while demand rises 9% by 2070. At the same time, experts are forecasting there will be a surplus of twice that amount in water associated with oil and natural gas production.
